"If one wishes to learn from a master like Henri Matisse, then try transforming one of their works into your own style. This transformation was done from a large photograph of Matisse's "The Lute", 1943. I abstracted the composition and the realistic figure, objects and fabrics in his picture into geometric icons I use, thus making the transformation. My colors, particularly the three reds, and composition are similar to the original."
